SYNOPSIS
Paul, a forty years old translator of books, several years earlier married to Sonya, a young Chinese student he met in New York.
Now, for some obscure reason, his wife decides to return to Hong Kong just before the birth of their daughter.
Paul doesn’t give it much thought until he gets a telegram from Sandy, Sonya’s cousin, telling him that his wife tried to commit suicide.
